レッスンの始めは、まず自己紹介から。この日は自分の苗字、名前を口頭で綴れるように練習しました。

“My last name is Hando” “That’s H-A-N-D-O”. というようにです。口頭で言うのは書くより少し難しいのですが、上手に言えていました。

The first of the lesson is students’ introduction. This day, I had them practice speaking the spell of their first names and last names.

Speaking the spell is more difficult than writing the one, but they could say very well. 

とっさの一言表現では、公園や教室、友達の家などでの会話を英語で習得します。

“May I go to the bathroom?” “Can I use it?” など講師が言った表現が、セリフのどこにあるかを

さがして”Here!”と答えます。

In Useful Expressions, students learn the talking expressions in the park, in the classroom, and in the friend’s house.

They find the bubble that the teacher says, they point it and say “Here!”.

月に一度の単語テスト。PFクラスでは、月に50個ほど学習します。聴いた順に番号を書くなどの問題に一生懸命取り組んでいます！

This is the vocabulary test once a month! In PF class, students learn about fifty new words a month.

They are taking the questions that they listen words and number the order really hard!

PFクラスの生徒はまだまだ動き回る事が大好きなので、英語で体を動かす事も大切です。

この日のTPRは盛りだくさん。”Put your hands up” “Put your legs up”などで、上げ下げ運動も行いました。

The student in PF class still like to move around very much, so it is important for them to do some exercises using English.

The TPR of this day has a lot of things! They also did some up-down exercises.

“Ride a motorcycle”の指示で、バイクに乗ったつもりで教室を歩き回ります。

With the command “Ride a motorcycle”, the student walk around the classroom pretending to ride a motorbike.

新出単語の学習です。テレビモニターで確認した後、チャンツで声出しをします。去年覚えた単語もあるので、生徒たちは元気に発音してくれます。

The next is studying the new words. The students check the words, say the words with the chants.

They can pronounce the words well because they had already learned some of them last year.

フォニックスタイム。今回からライミングと言って、同じ音を含む単語を学習しています。例えば、

“at”という音は、”hat, mat, cat”等に共通して使われています。

Phonics time! From this lesson, I have the students learn the words that have the same sounds called rhyming.

For example, the sound of “at” is used in “hat, mat, cat” etc.

アルファベットカードを使ったゲームも、時々行っています。この日は、大文字と小文字をペアで覚えてもらう為に、神経衰弱をしました。特に覚えにくい小文字”b,d,p,q”も入れました。

I sometimes do some games using the Alphabet cards for the students. This day, students tried concentrations to remember the pair of capital and small letter.

I also used the letter “b, d, p and q”, which are difficult to remember.

運動タイム！今回は”Put your hands up/down” “Touch your ～”でした。幼児コースは動き回る事が多い為、熱中症予防の為、検温、消毒の上マスクを外してレッスンしています。

Exercise time! This time is “Put your hands up/down” “Touch your …”.

Infant students usually move well, so they take lessons without putting the mask after I take their temperature and disinfect their hands to prevent the heatstroke.

“Dance!”では、私も一緒に踊って盛り上げます。

I liven up the kids by dancing with them in the gesture of “Dance!”

今回の単語は数”one-ten”。特に、sevenとnine の区別が付きにくいので、ゆっくり一緒に数えます。

Today’s words are number1-10. Especially, it is hard for kids to distinguish “seven” and “nine”, I count these numbers slowly with them.

慣れてきたら、簡単な数当てゲームをします。

They try the easy counting games after they are getting used to it.

モニターに、動物が上から下に落ちてきて、それを数えるというゲームなのですが、落ちてくる速度が速くて、子供たちは必死に”one, two, three…”と数えています。

When some animals are falling down on the TV monitor, the kids have to count the animals. They are counting so hard because the speed of animals falling down is very fast.

アルファベットタイム！　まず、音と文字を順番に覚えるために指差しをしながらアルファベットソングを歌います。子供たち、真剣に指差ししています！

Alphabet time! First, the kids sing “The Alphabet Song” while pointing each letter in order on the sheet. They are chasing the letter well.

体でアルファベットの形を作ります。”A”はとても作りやすいので、子供たちもいつも自信たっぷりに作ります。

The kids make the shape of the letter with their bodies. Making the letter A is very easy, so they make a pose of the letter confidently.

最後はダンスタイム！パイを食べているジェスチャーがとてもかわいいです！

The last is dance time! The kids’ gestures that are eating the pies are really cute!

出欠確認は、まず姿勢を正してから。私が名前を読んだら、子供たちは”Here!”と元気に返事をします。

I call the kids name after I check they are sitting nicely.

When I call their name, kids response well saying “Here!.”

運動タイム。ネイティブ音声の指示に、子供たちはパッと動きます。”Touch your ears!”

This is the exercise time.

The kids move quickly with the commands of the native teacher’s voice.

今回の単語は数”one-ten”。すでに年中で習っていて簡単だった為、早口で言ったり、カウントダウンしたりして盛り上げます。子供たちもタブレットを使って、数当てゲームをします。

The vocabulary of this time is number1-10. I liven up the part by having kids say the words quickly and count down because kids have already learned them and felt easily.

書き取りタイム。アルファベットを書き順を意識しながら練習します。アルファベットは基本左から上から書きます。平仮名のように書き順に厳しくはありませんが、いずれは筆記体を書く時繋げて書きやすいような書き順で指導しています。子供たち、真剣です！

Writing time! Kids practice writing alphabet letters checking the stroke order.

Alphabet usually goes from the left or the top.

It is not so strict about the stroke order like Hiragana, but I always teach kids the order to be able to write the handwriting easily someday.

Kids are doing their best!

アルファベットの形を体で作ります。一人で作るのが難しいDやHなどはお友達と作り、もう1人には先生役になってもらっています。

Kids are making the letters with their bodies.
They make together the letter D and H that are difficult to make by oneself, the other kid becomes a teacher.

先生役も、とても楽しそうです。

Becoming a teacher looks a lot of fun!

ソングタイム！ 幼児コースは動き回る事が多い為、熱中症予防の為、検温や消毒の上、マスクを外してレッスンしています。　

Song time! Kids usually take lessons taking off the mask after checking the temperatures and disinfection their hands because they often do exercise.

最後はGood-bye song を歌って締めくくります。年長さんはいつもとても積極的に動いてくれます！

The lesson finishes with singing “Good-bye” song.

The final year of kindergarten kids always take lessons so positively!
